Juana 48 our in-house comedian came to us in 2002 to work in the factory. Juana attends the Catholic Church. She and her husband Juan 48 have three grown children Tina 26, Higinio 21 married to Berta, Lionel 19 still at home, and Manuel 9. Ten years ago, Juana’s husband came to get us on Christmas Day. Juana had given birth to twins, one boy had died-the other was still in the hospital. We had not seen Juana before and certainly did not recognize the woman lying in bed struggling for breath very edematous (swollen). Trish examined her, and strongly urged the family to take her immediately to the hospital. Bernard prayed and we left. On New Year’s Day, the family finally allowed us to rush her for help. She was taken from the first hospital by ambulance to one in Antigua. She was bedridden for 3 months. It was a miracle that she lived. Manuel attends our school daily.
